Gateway Learning, through its Gateway+ platform, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ho Chi Minh University of Banking (HUB), marking an important step towards creating more international learning, career-development and internship opportunities for students in Vietnam.

The signing ceremony took place on 17 August 2026 during the HUB delegation’s visit to Singapore. Representatives from both organisations came together to discuss how the partnership can help students connect their academic studies with practical workplace experience and prepare for an increasingly global employment landscape.

Connecting Education with Real-World Experience

At Gateway+, we believe that students should graduate with more than academic knowledge. They also need the practical skills, professional confidence and international exposure required to navigate the modern workplace.

The partnership with HUB establishes a framework through which both organisations can develop initiatives such as:

  • Remote internship opportunities with international employers
  • Career-readiness and professional skills training
  • Career talks, workshops and industry-led discussions
  • Professional mentoring and career guidance
  • Company visits and experiential learning activities
  • Connections with businesses and industry professionals
  • Potential scholarship and development opportunities for promising students

By combining HUB’s academic strengths with Gateway+’s career-development expertise and employer network, the collaboration aims to make meaningful workplace exposure more accessible to students.

Expanding Access to International Internships

A major area of focus will be connecting HUB students with remote internship opportunities involving employers in Singapore and other international markets.

Remote internships allow students to contribute to real projects, communicate with international teams and experience different workplace cultures—all while continuing their studies in Vietnam. These opportunities can also help students strengthen essential professional capabilities such as communication, collaboration, problem-solving, accountability and adaptability.

Through its network of more than 500 employers, Gateway+ supports students in accessing practical experiences across fields including Marketing, Business Administration, Finance and Banking, alongside other emerging professional areas.

Students participating in these programmes can receive support in preparing for the internship process, developing their professional profiles and adapting to the expectations of an international workplace.

A Shared Commitment to Student Employability

The MOU reflects a shared commitment between Gateway+ and HUB to strengthen the connection between university education and the realities of employment.

As industries evolve, employers increasingly look for graduates who can apply their knowledge, work confidently with others and adjust to new environments. Early exposure to professional settings can help students understand these expectations while giving them greater clarity about their interests and future career paths.

The partnership therefore goes beyond internship placement. It creates opportunities to support students throughout their broader career-development journey—from building foundational workplace skills to engaging with employers, mentors and industry specialists.

Encouraging Broader International Exposure

During the HUB delegation’s wider Singapore programme, HUB’s Elite Class students also visited the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) on 18 August 2026.

Students learned about Singapore’s professional accounting landscape, the Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualification and possible career-development pathways within accounting and finance. They were also introduced to emerging topics such as sustainability and sustainability reporting in financial services.

The visit gave students an opportunity to engage directly with industry representatives, ask questions and gain a clearer understanding of the professional standards and capabilities expected in an international environment.

Experiences like these reflect the wider purpose of the Gateway+ and HUB partnership: helping students move beyond classroom-based learning and engage with the industries, organisations and professionals shaping their future careers.

Looking Ahead

The signing of the MOU represents the beginning of a longer-term collaboration between Gateway+ and HUB.

Both organisations will continue exploring programmes that combine academic learning, skills development, professional guidance and meaningful workplace experience. Future initiatives may include remote internships, industry engagement, career workshops, scholarships and other opportunities designed to support high-potential students.

Gateway+ is proud to partner with Ho Chi Minh University of Banking and contribute to the development of confident, capable and globally minded graduates.

Together, we look forward to opening more pathways for HUB students to learn, gain practical experience and prepare for opportunities in Vietnam, Singapore and beyond.
